Hockey is thriving in North Carolina!

Jim Rutherford is pleased with the growth of hockey in Raleigh. The native of Beeton, Ont. shares several reasons why hockey is thriving.

Many franchise would love to have won nine playoff series within their thirteen years of existence. That includes one Stanley Cup and two Conference Champion trophies.

The "Caniacs" recently surprised the NHL, who hoped for 1,000 volunteer applications for the NHL All Star Weekend. There were over 1,600 applications submitted, far outweighing the response of other recent All Star cities.

The RBC Center is known as one of the loudest arenas in the NHL.
