IAAF World Championships in Moncton, NB July 19th-25
Run, jump, throw! Athletics is sport
at its most basic. It's all about achieving the fastest, highest and furthest
results. The World Junior Championships take place every two years as part of
the International Association of Athletics Federation's (IAAF) World Athletics
Series.
For seven days in July 2010, more
than 1400 athletes representing 170 member federations will gather in Moncton to
compete in 44 medal events. These are some of the best athletes in the world.

most recent World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Spectators at the IAAF World Junior
Championships will be able to see some of the world's very best junior athletes
in action. Many of these athletes will compete again at the London 2012 Olympic
Games.
Over the course of the week from
July 19th-25th, 50,000 spectators are expected to fill the seats at the new
Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium on the Université de Moncton campus. Millions more
from coast to coast and around the world will watch the event on TV and through
the CBC's live webcast.
