Did you know? US Healthcare Statistics
Sean Mitton, Canadian Expat Network
How many Americans do you think have healthcare coverage and where do they get it from? According to a 2007 study by the Kaiser Family Foundation 84.2% of the population has healthcare coverage leaving aproximately 47 million without care for at least part of the year. Employers covered 59.7% of that amount, but pressure from rising premiums has that percentage declining. Since 2001 premiums have increased 78% while wages have risen 19% and inflation 17%. About 9% of the population purchases health care insurance directly from the market. Government sources cover 27% of the population (80.3 million).
